Maruti Grand Vitara Price Expectations – Strong Hybrid To Cost More Than Hyryder

The long wait for the new Maruti Grand Vitara SUV will come to end on 26th September as the Indo-Japanese automaker will announce its prices. There will be 10 variants spread across 6 trims – Sigma, Delta, Zeta, Zeta+, Alpha and Alpha+. The 103bhp, 1.5L petrol mild hybrid powertrain will be offered on the Sigma, Delta, Zeta and Alpha trims. All four aforementioned trims will get a 5-speed manual gearbox as standard, while a 6-speed automatic transmission will be available from the Delta trim onwards.

Maruti Suzuki’s AllGrip AWD system will be reserved for the Zeta and Alpha manual variants. The 114bhp, 1.5L petrol strong hybrid setup will be available on the range-topping Zeta+ and Alpha+ trims. It will come with an e-CVT gearbox only.

As per the leaked information, the Maruti Grand Vitara prices will start from Rs 9.50 lakh and go up to Rs 15 lakh for the mild hybrid variants. The strong hybrid model will cost at Rs 17 lakh for the Zeta+ and Rs 18 lakh for the Alpha+. Just so you know, the upcoming Grand Vitara shares its platform, design bits, features and powertrains with the Toyota Urban Cruiser Hyryder.

The Japanese automaker announced prices of the Hyryder’s four strong hybrid variants that fall between Rs 15.11 lakh – Rs 18.99 lakh. Its top-end mild hybrid automatic variant costs Rs 17.09 lakh. Compared to the Toyota Hyryder, the starting price of the Grand Vitara strong hybrid variant will be higher. The Indo-Japanese automaker will offer the strong hybrid powertrain only on the top Zeta+ and Alpha+ trims.  The leaked information states that the Alpha AWD variant will be priced at Rs 15.50. If it happens, the Maruti Grand Vitara will become the most affordable AWD SUV in the country.

The SUV’s Zeta+ and Alpha+ trims will be exclusively offered with features such as a 360 degree camera, upgraded sound system, ventilated front seats, puddle lamps, leatherette steering wheel, black leatherette seats, tyre pressure monitor, a panoramic sunroof, all-black interior with gold accents, a 7.0-inch fully digital instrument cluster, wireless charger, Head-Up display, silver roof rails, dark grey front and rear skid plates and dual-tone colour options.
