The SUV will share the body panels and interior elements with the HyRyder.

Not just mechanics and design elements, the Maruti Grand Vitara will share features with the Toyota HyRyder. It will come with features like panoramic sunroof, and leather upholstery for seats, gear knob and steering wheel, and a soft-touch dashboard, a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with wireless connectivity, a digital instrument console, a 360 degree camera, Head-Up-Display or HUD, connected car tech, automatic AC and ventilated front seats.

The new SUV will be offered with two engine options – a 1.5L K15C petrol with mild hybrid tech & the Toyota-sourced 1.5L TNGA Atkinson cycle petrol with a strong hybrid tech. Transmission choice will include a 5-speed manual, a 6-speed torque convertor and an e-CVT (Strong Hybrid Only). The mild hybrid unit will also get an AWD (all-wheel-drive) option.
