Maruti Grand Vitara Delta Vs Brezza ZXi+ – Comparison

Maruti Suzuki has recently launched the new Brezza sub-4 meter SUV in the price bracket of Rs 7.99 lakh to Rs 13.96 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The company will also launch the new Alto on August 18, 2022. MSIL has recently revealed the all-new Grand Vitara SUV, which is scheduled to be launched in the country in September 2022.

The new Maruti Grand Vitara prices have also been leaked on the Internet. The new model is reportedly to be priced in the range of Rs 9.5 lakh to Rs 18 lakh. It is expected that the lower and mid-level variants of the Vitara SUV could impact the sales of the high-spec Maruti Brezza. Bookings of the new model have also been started, while deliveries of the new Brezza have also been commenced. Both SUVs are designed and developed on Suzuki’s Global-C platform that underpins the new-gen S-Cross on sale in the global markets. The new SUVs are powered by the same 1.5-litre K15C petrol engine with Suzuki’s Smart Hybrid or mild-hybrid tech. This engine is capable of producing 103PS and 138Nm of torque. Transmission choices include a 5-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic with paddle shifters. The Grand Vitara’s manual version will also come with AWD system, which offers 4 driving modes – Auto, Sand, Snow and Lock. 

2022 Maruti Brezza Bookings

The Grand Vitara will also be offered with a self-charging strong hybrid powertrain. The strong hybrid version features a Toyota’s sourced 3-cylinder 1.5L TNGA Atkinson cycle engine coupled to a 177.6V lithium-ion battery. The powertrain produces 92.45PS of power, while the maximum usable power and torque stands at 115.5PS and 122Nm respectively. It comes with Toyota’s e-CVT, which is also offered on the global Yaris Cross hybrid. The hybrid version is claimed to return an ARAI certified fuel economy of 27.97kmpl.

Mileage

In terms of efficiency, the Grand Vitara is claimed to offer more mileage compared to the new Brezza. While the Brezza manual and automatic returns 20.1kmpl and 19.8kmpl respectively, the Grand Vitara with same powertrain offers 21.11kmpl with manual gearbox. The AT FWD and MT AWD offers 20.58kmpl and 19.38kmpl respectively. The hybrid version is claimed to return an ARAI certified fuel economy of 27.97kmpl.

The Maruti Grand Vitara is clearly more spacious compared to the Brezza. In terms of proportions, the new SUV is 4,345mm long, 1,795mm wide and 1,645mm tall and has a wheelbase of 2,600mm. It is around 350mm longer and 5mm wider; however, the height has been reduced by 40mm. In fact, the wheelbase is 100mm more compared to the Brezza. The Maruti Brezza measures 3,995mm in length, 1,790mm in width and 1,685mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,500mm.

2022 Maruti Brezza Infotainment System

The new Brezza ZXi+ variant is priced at Rs 12.30 lakh (ex-showroom). At this price point, this variant could impact the sales of the Grand Vitara’s Delta. The Brezza ZXi+ manual version comes equipped with a 9-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Suzuki Connect, electric sunroof, HUD, 360 degree view camera, 6 airbags, arkamys sound system, cooled glovebox, front fog lamps and wireless charging.

On the other hand, the Grand Vitara’s Delta variant has a 7-inch SmartPlay Pro infotainment system, Alexa & Google assistance, Suzuki connected car features, cruise control, rear fast charging USB ports and reverse parking camera. While the Brezza ZXi+ rides on 16-inch diamond-cut alloys, the Grand Vitara Delta has 17-inch steel wheels with wheel cover.
