Maruti Expects to Sell 15,000 Monthly Units of Alto (K10 Combined)

Maruti Suzuki recently introduced the all-new Alto K10 hatchback within the price range of Rs 3.99 lakh – Rs 5.84 lakh (all, ex-showroom). Speaking to an online media publication, Shashank Srivastava, Senior Executive Officer Marketing & Sales, said that customers are more inclined towards SUVs, but “the attraction of the small car has not diminished”.  The company believes that the Maruti Alto will regain its top position by the end of this year.

The automaker expects the new 2022 Maruti Alto K10 will further increase its sales figures to around 60,000 – 70,000 units this year. At present, the company is selling around 9,000 units of the Alto on a monthly basis. The hatchback’s third-generation model gets bigger and comes with improved design, interior and an updated engine. It’s based on the brand’s Heartect platform and measures 3530mm in length, 1490mm in width and 1520mm in height. That means, the new one is 85mm longer and 45mm taller than the Alto 800. Its wheelbase has also been increased by 20mm. Though, the width is similar to the Alto 800.

Now, the new Alto K10 comes with a 1.0L, 3-cylinder K10C petrol engine sourced from the new Celerio. The motor pushes out a peak power of 67bhp and 89Nm of torque. Buyers have two gearbox options to choose from – a 5-speed annual and a 5-speed AMT. The gasoline unit has been boosted with the dualjet technology and idle start/star system, thus making it more fuel efficient than the previous model. Maruti Suzuki claims that the new 2022 Maruti Alto K10 offers 24.39kmpl with manual gearbox and 24.90kmpl with automatic transmission.

Significant changes have been made to its interior and exterior including a new 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support, new switch gear, a 4 speaker audio system, steering mounted audio controls, new hexagonal grille with a mesh pattern air intake, sweptback halogen headlamps, revised bumpers and slightly different taillamps.
