It was only in July, 2014 that Maruti Suzuki India (MSI) introduced a special edition of the Ertiga to celebrate 150, 000 sales figure. Turns out, the company has rolled out yet another special edition of its popular MPV. This time, it is to commemorate Ertiga’s sales of 200, 000 units in India.
The Limited Edition – the Ertiga Paseo Explore –is available only on the VXi and VDi variants. It comes equipped with various new features such as a digital tyre inflator and reverse parking sensors. This special edition also gets side body decals, blackened-out rear pillars and a rear spoiler. Inside the cabin, the MPV sports a cool/ warm box, a multi-device charger, steering wheel cover storage compartment, Bluetooth, seat covers, pillows and designer mats.
Introducing the Paseo Explore Limited Edition could be a part of the company’s strategy to sell out the existing stock of the MPV, since its planning to launch the 2015 Ertiga facelift sometime in August-September. The new Ertiga facelift will make its debut on August 20, 2015 at the Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show. It will compete against the Honda Mobilio, Chevrolet Enjoy and Mahindra Xylo.
The updated model will continue to be powered with the 1.4-litre K-Series petrol and 1.3-litre DDiS diesel engines that do duty to the existing model. The former churns out a maximum power of 93.7bhp at 6, 000rpm and 130Nm of torque at 4, 000rpm, while the latter one is good for 88.76bhp and 200Nm of torque. Both the engines are mated with a 5-speed manual transmission. The MPV returns an impressive fuel efficiency of 16.2kmpl (petrol) and 20.77kmpl (diesel).
Though, Maruti Suzuki might tune the engines for better fuel efficiency. There are reports that claim that the facelifted Ertiga in India might feature an automated manual transmission. It will be the same gearbox that also powers the Celerio and Alto K10. Though in case of Ertiga, it will be offered with the diesel version, which will make it the most affordable diesel automatic MPV in India.

That it seems like an accessory pack that the company is offering free of cost on all variants. The reason we say this is because of the fact that the Paseo Explore edition’s micro website has a price list similar to the regular model. So if the prices given on the microsite are to be believe the Ertiga range. With the Paseo Explore accessory kit, will cost between Rs. 6.61 lakh to Rs. 7.60 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi).
