Maruti Ertiga Gets Safer With Standard ESP, Hill Hold Assist

Maruti Suzuki has introduced the ESP (electronic stability program) and hill hold assist safety fitments as standard on the Ertiga model lineup. Earlier, both safety features were offered from the VXi trim onwards that too on the automatic variants only. The Maruti Ertiga MPV’s safety kit also includes 4 airbags, anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brakeforce distribution (EBD), brake assist, Isofix child seat anchorages, rear parking sensors, central locking, speed sensing auto door lock and cruise control. Interestingly, prices of the Maruti Ertiga remain unchanged. It continues to come within the price range of Rs 8.35 lakh – Rs 12.79 lakh. The model lineup includes three automatic variants – VXi, ZXi and ZXi+ – priced at Rs 10.99 lakh, Rs 12.09 lakh and Rs 12.79 lakh respectively. The VXi and ZXi trims can also be had with CNG kit that cost Rs 10.44 lakh and Rs 11.54 lakh respectively. All aforementioned prices are ex-showroom.

The range-topping ZXi+ trim comes with four exclusive features, namely, automatic headlamps, leather wrapped steering wheel, cruise control and 4 airbags. The list of features also includes a 7.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system, 6-speaker audio system, Suzuki Connect connected car features, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, automatic air conditioning, height adjustable driver’s seat and more.

All variants of the Maruti Eritga MPV are powered by a 1.5L K15C Dualjet petrol engine making 103bhp and 136.8Nm. With the factory-fitted CNG kit, the motor delivers power worth 87bhp and 121.5Nm of torque. It’s boosted with Maruti’s smart hybrid technology. The MPV comes with both manual and automatic gearbox. The variants with a 6-speed torque convertor automatic transmission gets paddle shifters.

The carmaker claims that the new Eritga offers a fuel efficiency of 20.51kmpl with manual and 20.30kmpl with automatic gearbox. The CNG version returns 26.11km/kg. Soon, the company will add three new CNG variants to the Ertiga model lineup.
