Maruti Ertiga Cross – 5 Big Changes Likely on Offer

The six-seater Ertiga Cross will be sold exclusively through NEXA premium dealership network.

Maruti Suzuki Ertiga is currently the best-selling MPV in the Indian market. In order to capitalize on the growing popularity, Maruti Suzuki is planning to add a more rugged and premium variant to the Ertiga line-up. Likely to be called the Maruti Ertiga Cross, the new sportier variant is expected to be launched in the country in the next few months. Testing of the new model has already been started.

– Six-seater

The existing Ertiga MPV is available in 7- and 8-seat layout. The Maruti Ertiga Cross will be pitched as a premium model and will come with a six-seat layout. It will have captain seats for all 3 rows with dedicated air-con vents.

– BS6 Engine

The Ertiga Cross model is most likely to be offered in petrol avatar only. It will be powered by a BS6 compliant 1.5-litre K15B petrol engine with SHVS mild hybrid system that also powers the regular model. This engine is capable of producing 104bhp of power and 138Nm of torque. Transmission options are likely to include a 5-speed manual and a torque convertor automatic.

– Rugged Exterior Profile

Going by the spy images available on the internet, it is visible that the Ertiga Cross gets a new grille that is larger than the grille available with the regular Ertiga. The headlamp unit will come with integrated daytime running lights. – All black interior

The Ertiga Cross will come with an all-black interior with an updated central console. It is likely to get new upholstery for seats with contrasting stitching. The regular model is available in dual-tone interior scheme.

– NEXA Only

The current Maruti Ertiga is available through Maruti Suzuki Arena dealership network. However, the six-seater Ertiga Cross will be sold exclusively through NEXA premium dealership network. Suzuki is also working on a 7-seater Wagon R, which will also be sold through NEXA.
