Maruti Suzuki has introduced a special edition of the Dzire compact sedan in the Indian market. The new Maruti Dzire special edition has been made available with the entry-level LDi petrol and LXi diesel trims priced at Rs 5.56 lakh and Rs 6.56 lakh respectively. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi. While the regular base variants of the sedan come with limited features, the special edition gets a few extra goodies saving up to Rs 30,000.

Since it’s just a special edition, no mechanical changes have been made to the car. For power, the petrol version of the sedan uses a 1.2-litre K-Series engine that’s good for 82bhp and 113Nm of torque. Both the powertrains are available with a 5-speed manual and an AMT (automated manual transmission) gearbox options. Mileage figure of the new Maruti Dzire petrol stand at 22kmpl and the diesel model delivers 28.4kmpl, thus making the most fuel efficient car in the country. Since its launch in May 2017, the new-generation Maruti Dzire has been generating volume for the carmaker. In fact, it’s the highest selling car of the country. In July 2018, the Indo-Japanese carmaker retailed 25647 units of the compact sedan as opposed to 14703 units of the same month last year, accounting a growth of 74 percent.
