Maruti Ciaz Beats Hyundai Verna, Honda City for 3rd Consecutive Year

Maruti Suzuki has sold over 2.56 lakh units of the Ciaz sedan since its launch in 2014.

Maruti Suzuki Ciaz has claimed the top-position in terms of sales in its segment for the third consecutive year. The premium sedan beats its closest rivals including the Honda City and Hyundai Verna. It clocked 30 per cent market share and crossed over 46,000 units in 2018-19. The company has sold over 2.56 lakh units of the Ciaz sedan since its launch in 2014. In fact, the top-end Maruti Ciaz accounts for 48% of the total sales and the signature NEXA Blue colour contributes over 31% total sales.

Maruti Suzuki had launched the Ciaz facelift in 2018, which is equipped with a new 1.5-litre petrol engine with new-gen Smart Hybrid system. Adding to it, the company has recently launched the Ciaz with 1.5-litre in-house developed diesel engine paired to a six-speed manual gearbox. This engine is capable of producing 94bhp of power and 225Nm of torque.

The Maruti Suzuki Ciaz is compliant with advanced safety regulations, including pedestrian safety, ahead of Government regulation timelines. It comes loaded with new safety features comprising ISOFIX child restraint system, high-speed warning alert, dual airbags, ABS with EBD as standard.
