2. Maruti Suzuki Future S Concept
In our list of new Maruti Cars at Auto Expo 2018, the first model is the Future S Concept. It will be company’s global model, which could also go on sale in select international markets. The Future S previews the company’s new design language, which we will see on the future Maruti cars.
The overall profile of the Future S shows a mini SUV, featuring upright stance, high bonnet line and wide haunches. It is expected to be the new entry-level crossover from the India’s largest automaker, which will go on sale in 2019. The new model will sit below the Vitara Brezza. The model shares some of its design highlights from XA Alpha, specifically from the front. Though, Maruti has made several changes to make it look different and it looks far better than the bigger XA Alpha.
The Future S concept based entry-level crossover will directly rival the popular Renault Kwid and others in its league. It is quite early to comment when the production version of the Future S concept will go on sale, but company sources confirmed that the model could be launched as early as the end of this year.
Like new generation Swift twins, the new entry-level model is built on Suzuki’s lightweight Heartect platform. It is expected to be powered by a 1.0-litre K-Series petrol or a 1.2-litre K-Series petrol engine. Rumors also suggest that the company’s upcoming 1.5L diesel engine with SHVS mild hybrid system could be introduced with this small car. Read More
