Maruti Baleno RS Prices Reduced by Rs 1 lakh – Report
In order to improve sales to overcome the slowdown, automakers are giving hefty discounts and benefits on their products. The Government of India has also reduced the corporate taxes, which prompted Maruti Suzuki to pass on the benefit to customers by reducing the prices of select models by Rs 5,000. A new report claims that Maruti Suzuki has also reduced the price of Baleno RS hatchback by a huge Rs 1 lakh.
Team BHP member Leoshashi reports that the new price of Baleno RS is effective and is applicable on the ex-showroom price. This could be the move to clear up its inventory. The brand is also offering hefty discounts on its other products including Vitara Brezza, Swift, Dzire, Baleno and Celerio.
The Maruti Baleno is a huge hit in our market; however, the performance-oriented RS model is not doing pretty good for the Indo-Japanese brand. The Baleno RS is powered by a 1.0-litre 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine that is capable of producing 100bhp and 150Nm of torque. The Baleno’s 1.2-litre petrol and 1.3-litre diesel versions are accounting for the maximum sales.
Originally priced at Rs 8.88 lakh (ex-showroom, Price), the Maruti Baleno RS is around Rs 1 lakh expensive over the standard 1.2-litre ZETA petrol model. With massive Rs 1 lakh cut, the price of Baleno RS comes under Rs 8 lakh. This makes the hot hatch a very tempting and value-for-money proposition.
It is expected that Maruti Suzuki is not likely to upgrade the Baleno RS 1.0L model for the upcoming BS6 emission norms. The reduction in the price is the move to clear the inventory for the RS model.
