Maruti Alto, Swift, Dzire, WagonR, Brezza, Ertiga Prices Updated

Maruti Suzuki has increased prices across its model lineup by up to Rs 34,000. The new prices came into effect from 18 January, 2021. The reason behind the price hike is said to be the rising input costs. One must note that the carmaker hasn’t yet revealed the model and their variant-wise prices. The Indo-Japanese carmaker’s top-selling Maruti Alto hatchback gets expensive by up to Rs 14,000, while the Celerio and WagonR witnessed a price increased of up to Rs 19,400 and Rs 23,200 respectively. The Maruti S-Presso prices have been increased by up to Rs 7,000. Now, the Maruti Swift hatchback and Dzire compact sedan cost extra up to Rs 30,000 and Rs 12,500 respectively.

Prices of the Maruti Vitara Brezza have been hike by up to Rs 10,000 and the Ertiga MPV gets expensive by up to Rs 34,000. The Maruti Tour S received a price hike of up to Rs 5,061 and the Eeco up to Rs 24,200. In the commercial space, the Maruti Super Carry witnessed a price increase of up to Rs 10,000.

In December 2020, the Indo-Japanese carmaker registered 20.2% growth with sales of over 1.6 lakh units against 1.33 lakh units of the same month in 2019. In the domestic passenger vehicle space, the company managed to sell 1.40 lakh units opposed to 1.22 lakh units a year before.

Talking about Maruti Suzuki’s future plan, the company will soon roll out the updated Swift hatchback featuring a more powerful Dualjet petrol engine. In 2021, the company is also reported to give a generation change to its three popular models, namely, Vitara Brezza, Alto and Celerio. All three models will witness comprehensive changes in terms of design and features. It also plans to expand its SUV product portfolio in a couple of years.
