We reported earlier that Mahindra will launch the limited edition variant of the XUV500 named as ‘Mahindra XUV500 Sportz’. This could be the move to improve the sales of the SUV in the Indian car market. The new Mahindra XUV500 Sportz edition features cosmetic upgrades which includes red decals on the bonnet and on the doors. The fog lamps, roof rails and door handles also has red accents. The vehicle gets new sporty alloy wheels and ‘Sportz’ branding on the sides.
The XUV500 Sportz edition will be offered with the top spec W8 variant and it is equipped with advanced features including an infotainment system with GPS navigation, rear camera with 6-inch screen, automatic headlamps, automatic climate control and electrical adjustable outside rear view mirrors.
Under the hood, the XUV500 Sportz edition gets the 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder mHawk diesel engine that churns out a maximum power output of 140bhp and a peak torque of 330Nm. Power is transmitted to front wheels via a six-speed manual gearbox. The vehicle is expected to be priced around Rs. 50,000 more than the standard W8 model.
