The new 2018 Mahindra XUV500 facelift will receive a powerful version of 2.2-litre mHawk that is good for 170bhp & 330Nm.

Mahindra & Mahindra, the homegrown automaker has recently launched the Scorpio facelift in the Indian market. Now, the company is gearing up to launch the facelifted version of the popular XUV500. Mahindra has started testing the SUV on Indian roads, indicating a near launch. Going by the spyimages, it is visible that the 2018 Mahindra XUV500 receives several changes outside as well as inside. Additionally, the SUV will get a major increase in power output.

The recent spyshot suggests that the Mahindra XUV500 facelift gets a revised front with a new grille and a revised bumper design. The headlights seem identical to the existing model and continue to feature projectors and LED daytime running lights. The bonnet has been reworked and now gets a sleeker design. Side profile of the SUV looks largely identical to the existing model, except for the new set of alloy wheels. At the back, the SUV gets subtle design upgrades in the form of revised tail-lights. Mahindra XUV500 Facelift Spied Images

The cabin of the 2018 Mahindra XUV500 facelift is likely to get high-end features and premium upholstery. The SUV will get an updated infotainment system with will be compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay along with other connected apps and Ecosense driving rating application.

The XUV500 facelift will be powered by an updated 2.2-litre mHawk diesel engine. The current engine churns out 140PS of power and 330Nm of torque. On the flip side, the updated engine will produce 170bhp of power and 400Nm of torque. Both manual and automatic transmission will be on offer. It is expected that the updated model will also get a petrol engine that was recently introduced in the UAE market. The updated XUV500 will rival the Jeep Compass and Tata Hexa.

The exact launch date of the updated XUV500 is yet to be announced, but media reports suggest that the vehicle could go on sale in December. The vehicle could also be launched at the 2018 Delhi Auto Expo in February.
