Mahindra’s popular full-size SUV, XUV500 has been launched in Qatar in petrol version priced between Rs 9.9 lakh to Rs 13.7 lakh. The petrol-powered XUV500 was spotted earlier this in Dubai and now that it is available for sale in Qatar, details deeming the petrol engine have been revealed.

Available in three variants, W8 FWD, W8 AWD and W10 AWD AT, the model is akin to the India-spec XUV500 in terms of exterior styling save for the ‘G140’ logo on the fender. Insides are done in all-black and it gets the same infotainment system layered in the Indian version. As for features, the there is a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with 6 speakers, i-Pod, Aux-in and Bluetooth connectivity, voice commands, video playback, picture viewer, navigation, tyre pressure monitoring system, rain-sensing wipers, automatic headlamps and a glass-embedded antenna. Stopping power on the other hand comes from the all four wheels. The electric driving seats are however missing from the W10 trims.

W10 trim comes bereft of the electric seat on the driver’s side. At the heart of the petrol XUV500 is a 2.2-litre, turbocharged unit with a wastegate turbocharger good for maximum power of 138bhp against 320Nm torque. Termed “mHawk 140” by Mahindra, the petrol engine is available in manual and automatic transmission. The W8 FWD trims in the carline are paired to a manual unit whereas the W8 and W10 variants are offered with a 6-speed automatic gearbox with tiptronic mode. Colour options available on the Mahindra XUV500 petrol include sunset orange, pearl white, opulent purple, volcano black, Tuscan red, dolphin grey and moondust silver.
