Mahindra XUV400 E-SUV Launching Today – Key Details

The much-awaited Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV will finally go on sale in the Indian market today (8th September 2022). The company has released multiple teasers, which reveals the front-end styling and a new blue paint scheme. It will measure around 4.2 meters in length, which makes it longer than the ICE-powered XUV300. This will help Mahindra to create more space inside the cabin and bigger boot.

Mahindra XUV400 Price Expectations

In the electric vehicle segment, the Mahindra XUV400 will rival the likes of the Tata Nexon EV MAX and more expensive EVs including the MG ZS EV and the Hyundai Kona EV. The new model is expected to be priced in the range of Rs 20 lakh to Rs 24 lakh. For reference, the Nexon EV MAX is available in the price bracket of Rs 18.34 lakh to Rs 20.04 lakh.

Key Details

The new Mahindra XUV400 shares styling cues from the e-XUV300 electric SUV, which was unveiled at the 2020 Auto Expo. The teaser reveals that the SUV gets a closed-off, X-patterned, black and bronze front grille, featuring Mahindra’s new ‘Twin Peaks’ logo placed in the centre. In fact, the logo is finished in bronze. It gets new DRLs (Daytime Running Lamps), which are now integrated with the headlamp unit.

The new XUV400 comes with a more aggressive front bumper design, which accommodates newly styled fog lamps. In fact, the bronze accents are also embossed on the front bumper. The same bronze treatment is also added on the new Mahindra XUV.e range, which was recently revealed in UK. The side profile of the new Mahindra XUV400 looks largely identical to the XUV300; however, it appears longer than the XUV300. At the back, the new XUV400 electric SUV will come with a completely revised tailgate, new wraparound tail-lights and new license plate housing.

Mahindra XUV400 Prices

The Mahindra XUV400 electric SUV is expected to come with several high-end features including ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance System) suite and a new touchscreen infotainment system with Adreno X connected car AI technology. The ADAS tech will include autonomous emergency braking, blind spot monitoring, lane-keep assist and rear cross-traffic alert.

The new Mahindra XUV400 range is expected to offer a range of over 400km on a single charge. It is expected to feature LG Chem-sourced NMC cells that is claimed to be better than the Tata Nexon EV’s cylindrical LFP cells. It is likely to be offered with 40 to 45kWh battery pack.
