Mahindra XUV300 Sportz SUV – 5 Important Things To Know

Mahindra & Mahindra has two products (new Thar and XUV300 Sportz) ready to launch in India by the end of this year. While the second-generation Mahindra Thar will arrive in early October, the launch details of the Mahindra XUV300 Sportz are yet to be revealed by the carmaker. The sportier version of the XUV300 made its first public appearance at the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo. Earlier, it was slated to launch in the first quarter of this year. Though, it has been delayed due to the lockdown and ongoing pandemic. Here’re 5 things we should know about the upcoming XUV300 Sportz SUV.

1. New mStallion Petrol Engine

The sportier XUV300 will be one of the first Mahindra vehicles to feature the new mStallion engine. The carmaker unveiled its new range of turbo-petrol direct-injection (TGDI) engines at this year’s Auto Expo. The lineup includes three units – 1.2L, 1.5L and 2.0L – delivering power worth 130bhp with 230Nm, 163bhp with 280Nm and 190bhp with 380Nm respectively. Mahindra’s mStallion engines will be offered with an all-new 6-speed manual gearbox and a 6-speed automatic transmission sourced from Aisin. The Mahindra XUV300 Sportz will receive the 1.2L turbo-petrol motor that will initially be offered with a manual gearbox.

2. Segment‘s Most Powerful Car

As mentioned above, Mahindra’s new 1.2L mStallion turbo-petrol engine will be capable to produce a maximum power of 130bhp and 230Nm of torque. This will make it more powerful (20bhp) and torqueier (30Nm) than the standard model. In fact, it will be more powerful than its arch rival – Hyundai Venue turbo-petrol – that returns a claimed power of 120bhp. That said, the XUV300 Sportz will be the most powerful car in its category. Read – Mahindra XUV400 SUV To Be Developed On Ford VX-772 Platform
