Mahindra & Mahindra is all set to launch the more powerful variant of its popular XUV300 subcompact SUV. While its official launch date is yet to be announced, media reports suggest that it will hit roads tomorrow (i.e. 7th October 2022). Just so you know, the model was first showcased at the 2020 Delhi Auto Expo. Compared to its arch rivals – Maruti Brezza, Kia Sonet and Hyundai Venue, the Mahindra XUV300 Sportz will be more powerful. Under the hood, the sportier XUV300 will house a 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbocharged mStallion petrol motor. This gasoline unit will be tuned for generating a maximum power of 130bhp and 230Nm of torque. It could be offered with both manual and automatic gearbox options. When compared to the Kia Sonet and Hyundai Venue, both SUVs come with a 1.0L turbo petrol engine that’s good enough for 120bhp and 175Nm. The new Maruti Brezza is available with the 1.5L K15C Smart Hybrid powertrain delivering 103bhp and 137Nm.
As mentioned above, the Mahindra XUV300 Sportz will look slightly different from the standard version. Its final production model is likely to get sporty black treatment on the ORVMs, roof rails and pillars. There will be gloss black finish around the front grille, headlamps and fog lamp assembly. The new body graphics, black side body cladding and black alloy wheels will further enhance its sporty appearance.
The new sportier version of the Mahindra XUV300 will come with the all-black interior theme. We expect it to be based on the top-end W8 (O) trim offering all goodies available on the SUV model lineup. At present, the W8 (O) diesel monotone variant is available at Rs 12.53 lakh. The Mahindra XUV300 Sportz prices are expected to start from Rs 13 lakh (ex-showroom).
