Mahindra XUV300 Gets Smart Steering, Sunroof & Several Segment-First Features

Mahindra XUV300 compact SUV is the only model in its league to offer Smart Steering function and all-disc brakes

The long-awaited Mahindra XUV300 compact SUV will officially go on sale in India in the first half of 2019. Based on the SsangYong’s X100 platform, the XUV300 will directly rival the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Tata Nexon and Ford EcoSport. The X100 is the same platform that is used to develop the global Tivoli SUV. The Mahindra XUV300 is equipped with several segment-leading features, which should give it a competitive edge.

The Mahindra XUV300 comes equipped with segment-first smart steering function, which is sourced from the global SsangYong Tivoli. In this function, driver can alter the way your steering behaves. Drivers can opt between Normal, Comfort and Sport mode, which can be opted using a switch positioned on the centre console. Besides this Smart Steering, the XUV300 comes equipped with all-disc brakes, dual-zone climate control with rear AC vents, and as many as 7 airbags. In fact, the top-spec model will have leather seats. The SUV is equipped with a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which is sourced from Marazzo. The SUV also comes equipped with a factory-fitted electric sunroof, which is missing in Tata Nexon and Maruti Vitara Brezza. Though, Tata is offering this as customisation option. In terms of safety and security, the Mahindra XUV300 compact SUV gets 7 airbags, ABS with EBD, brake assist, rear and front parking sensors, reverse camera, hill launch assist, seat belt reminder, speed sensing door locks and others. The Mahindra XUV300 compact SUV will be available with 2 engine options – 1.5-litre diesel and 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol. The oil burner is capable of producing 121bhp and 300Nm of torque. The gasoline engine could produce up to 130PS of power and 160Nm of torque. A six-speed manual gearbox driving the power to front wheels will come as standard. The company will also launch the AMT option.
