Mahindra XUV300 Gets New Alloys Ahead of Facelift Launch

Mahindra & Mahindra has given a minor update to the XUV300 subcompact SUV in the country. The range-topping W8 (O) trim now comes with the newly-designed multi-spoke five-prong alloy wheels replacing the old units. No other changes have been made to the SUV. The Mahindra XUV300 W8 (O) comes with some exclusive features such as 17-inch alloy wheels, leatherette upholstery, auto dimming rear view mirror, powered sunroof, heated wing mirrors, second row seat belt reminder, three-point seat belt for middle rear seat, tyre pressure monitoring system, front parking sensors and 6 airbags.

Launched in 2019, the Mahindra XUV300 is ready to receive its first significant update in early 2023. The updated model will borrow some of its design bits from the XUV700. It will carry a newly-designed, larger front grille with bigger vertical chrome slats and full LED headlamps at the front end. The SUV will also come with a new set of alloy wheels and tweaked taillamps. Interior of the new XUV300 could be revised with a new touchscreen infotainment system.

With the mid-life update, Mahindra’s subcompact SUV will receive a 1.2L, 3-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine making 131bhp and 230Nm. The new motor will be 21bhp more powerful than the existing 110bhp, 1.2L petrol unit. The carmaker will boost the turbo-petrol engine with the mild hybrid and start-stop system that will make it comply to the CAFÉ standards. It will also reduce carbon emission levels. The existing 110bhp, 1.2L turbo petrol and 1.5L engines will continue to be on offer.

In early 2023, the home-grown automaker will bring in the Mahindra XUV300 electric SUV that’s reported to be named XUV400. The model will be designed on the brand’s MESMA platform and measure 4.2 metre in length. There will be two variants – Standard and Long-range – ensuring a range of around 200km and 375km respectively.
