Homegrown automaker, Mahindra has finally unveiled the long-awaited XU300 based electric SUV at the ongoing Delhi Auto Expo 2020. At the time of the launch, the Mahindra XUV300 electric SUV will be made available in two variants – standard and long-range. While the standard variant will offer an electric range of 200km, the long-range model will have an extended electric range of 300km.
It comes packed with a new electric powertrain coupled to a lithium-ion battery. The long range model comes packed with a 40kWh battery pack and an electric motor offering 130bhp of power.
The Mahindra eXUV300 supports AC as well as DC fast-charging capabilities. LG Chem, a Korean battery manufacturer has collaborated with Mahindra in the field of advanced lithium-ion battery technology. The Mahindra XUV300 electric SUV will be the first product with battery cells developed exclusively for India applications by the Korean company.
The Mahindra XUV300 EV will directly rival the newly launched Tata Nexon EV. Priced in the range of Rs 13.99 lakh to Rs 15.99 lakh, the Nexon electric SUV comes packed with a 30.2kWh battery pack with 129bhp, electric motor and offering an electric range of 312km. The Mahindra XUV300 electric SUV will be launched in the next financial year and is expected to be priced in the range Rs 15 lakh to Rs 17 lakh.
