Mahindra XUV300 compact SUV will be the brand’s 3rd model to be based on the monocoque chassis

Mahindra has recently revealed the XUV300 compact SUV through officia pictures. Scheduled to be launched in the first half of February 2019, the Mahindra XUV300 will challenge the likes of Tata Nexon, Maruti Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport. The SUV has been caught without camouflage during a television commercial shoot. The new images reveal all the design details of the SUV.

The all-new Mahindra XUV300 looks like a smaller sibling of the XUV 500. Upfront is a sleek, chromed grille and large headlamps along with uniquely shaped DRLs. Unlike its rivals, the XUV300 looks quite big and muscular. The vehicle gets a kink in the window line, faux chrome skid plates in the front and the rear along with a black cladding all-around the SUV. The SUV rides on stylish & big 17-inch machine-cut alloy wheels. Also See – Mahindra XUV300 Vs Tata Nexon

At the back, the Mahindra XUV300 comes with split LED tail-lamps, and roof-mounted spoiler with stop lamps integrated to it. The SUV gets slightly floating roof, and blackened pillars. The C-pillar is painted in gloss black, which adds to its sporty look.

The Mahindra XUV300 is based on the SsangYong’s X100 platform that also underpins the Tivoli. It looks quite different from the Tivoli, and shares some resemblance with the XUV500. The SUV is equipped with several segment-leading features like dual-zone climate control, 7 airbags, disc brakes on all-four wheels, longest wheelbase, factory-fitted sunroof, etc. The SUV also gets smart steering with multiple modes, coloured MID, ABS with EBD, reverse parking camera, 7-inch touchscreen infotainment with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, etc. Also See – Mahindra XUV300 Vs Maruti Vitara Brezza

Mahindra XUV300 will be powered by a 1.5-litre turbo-diesel engine that also powers the Marazzo. This engine is capable of producing 121bhp of power and 300Nm of torque. The petrol version will receive an all-new 1.2-litre turbocharged engine that is likely to produce around 130PS of power. Power will be transmitted to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox. The company will later add an AMT gearbox as well.
