Mahindra XUV300 beats Nexon in April 2019; records 26,000 bookings
Tata had delivered 3,976 units of the Nexon, while the Mahindra XUV300 sales stood at 4,200 units.
Mahindra & Mahindra, the homegrown automaker had launched the XUV300 sub-4 meter SUV in India on February 14, 2019. The SUV has been receiving positive response from buyers as the bookings for the Mahindra XUV300 has crossed 26,000 mark. The sub-4 meter SUV also manages to beat the Tata Nexon in terms of sales in April 2019. This is for the first time that the sales of XUV300 are higher than the Tata Nexon.
The Tata Nexon has witnessed a sharp decline in sales in April 2019. The company had delivered 3,976 units of the Nexon, while the Mahindra XUV300 sales stood at 4,200 units. The Maruti Vitara Brezza is still the undisputed king with 11,785 units sold in April 2019. Sales of Ford EcoSport and Honda WRV stood at 3,191 and 1,604 respectively. Mahindra has also delivered 1,250 units of the TUV300 in April.
The Mahindra XUV300 is available in 3 trim levels – W4, W6 and W8 and two engine options – a 1.2-litre G80 turbocharged petrol and a 1.5-litre turbo diesel. Prices of the SUV start from Rs 7.90 lakh and go up to Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The sub-4 meter SUV is available with segment-leading features seven airbags, all-4 disc brakes, front parking sensors, heated wing mirrors, dual-zone climate control and smart steering.
The Mahindra XUV300 petrol engine is capable of producing 110bhp of power at 5,000rpm and 200Nm of torque between 2,000-3,500rpm. The oil burner is good for 115bhp of power at 3,750rpm and 300Nm of torque between 1500 – 2500rpm. Power is transmitted to the front wheels via a 6-speed manual gearbox. The carmaker will soon add an AMT variant to the model lineup.
