Mahindra XUV300 Automatic To Launch In H2, 2019
Mahindra XUV300 automatic will get a Magneti Marelli sourced 6-speed AMT gearbox.
Mahindra XUV300, the compact SUV from the home-grown carmaker, will soon receive a new AMT (automated manual transmission) variant. While the official launch date and details are yet to be announced, it’s likely to hit roads in the second half of 2019. The new automatic model, which is currently in its testing phase, is likely to be priced around Rs 60,000-70,000 more premium than manual versions.
The carmaker will offer a Magneti Marelli sourced 6-speed AMT gearbox on the new XUV300 automatic variant. Currently, the compact SUV comes with a 1.5L diesel and 1.2L petrol engines generating power worth 115bhp with 300Nm and 110bhp with 200Nm respectively. Both powertrains are paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox.

Currently, the Mahindra XUV300 is available in four trims W4, W6, W8 and W8 (O) priced from Rs 7.90 lakh to Rs 11.99 lakh (ex-showroom). The dual-tone Red Rage and Aquamarine are offered only on the W8 (Optional pack) at an additional cost of Rs 15,000.
The home-grown carmaker will also introduce the AMT gearbox on its popular Marazzo MPV lineup. The Mahindra Marazzo AMT variant is likely to see a release early next year. In coming days, the company will soon launch the new Mahindra Thar 700 Signature Edition featuring sporty design bits with two new paint schemes – Aqua Marine and Napoli Black.
Besides this, Mahindra & Mahindra is working on the new-generation Scorpio that recently caught testing during its test rounds. The next-generation Mahindra XUV500 and Thar are also likely to make their debut at the 2020 Auto Expo.
