Engine specifications of the upcoming Mahindra MPV are yet to be revealed.
Mahindra & Mahindra has announced that it will launch the XUV500 facelift in India on April 18, 2018. While the carmaker hasn’t revealed its other plan, a tweet from Auto Show, BTVI’s Editior says that it will also unveil the Toyota Innova Crysta rival at the same event. We already seen multiple spy pictures of the Mahindra’s all-new MPV – U321 (codename) during its test rounds. After the XUV500 and KUV100, Mahindra’s all-new MPV is the third product to be based on a monocoque chassis. Some of its key design features will include Mahindra’s signature front grille, black headlamp bezels, upswept projector headlamps, 6-split spoke dual tone alloy wheels, chrome door handles and roof-mounted rear spoiler with stop light. Inside, the car will get a dual-one dashboard, a large touchscreen infotainment system that might support smartphone apps such as Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, fabric upholstery, front centre armrest and automatic climate control. The leather wrapped seats and steering could be reserved for the top-spec model. Read About – Mahindra TUV300 Plus
Reports suggest that Mahindra’s new 1.6-litre turbocharged mFalcon diesel engine might debut on the MPV. This powertrain will deliver 125bhp and 305Nm of torque. The petrol version, on the other hand, is likely to use a 1.5-litre or a 2.0-litre engine. The carline could be offered with both manual and automatic gearbox.
In terms of pricing, Mahindra’s new MPV will sit between the Maruti Ertiga and Toyota Innova Crysta. Its entry-level variant will go up against the former, and the top-spec model will take on the latter. The MPV will also compete with the Honda BR-V and Renault Lodgy.
