Mahindra U321 MPV To Launch In Early September – Report

Mahindra U321 MPV is reported to go on sale in the first week of September, 2018.

Mahindra & Mahindra has a handful of new products that will roll out in coming years. The carmaker aims to tap the growing compact SUV segment with the SsangYong Tivoli based vehicle to take on the Tata Nexon, Maruti Vitara Brezza and Ford EcoSport. Mahindra’s 7-seater SUV – XUV700 – that was showcased at the 2018 Auto Expo, will go up against the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour. Besides this, the home-grown carmaker will also bring in the Toyota Innova Crysta’s rival – the Mahindra U321 MPV.

According to a fresh report, the Mahindra U321 MPV will hit Indian roads in the first week of September, 2018. The official name of the vehicle is likely to be announced by the end of August 2018. The company will produce the MPV at its Nashik based plant.

Underpinning Mahindra XUV500’s platform, the U321 MPV will feature Mahindra’s signature design elements such as large sweptback headlamps with double barrel projector units, chrome-tooted grille, pronounced wheel arches with alloys wheels and larger vertically positioned taillamps. Interior of the new Mahindra MPV will have dual-tune theme with a large piano back finish on the dashboard. It will also get a large touchscreen infotainment display integrated at the centre. Features such as a twin-pot instrument cluster, a new three-spoke steering wheel, leather seats and large air-con vents will also be on offer. Check Out – Mahindra U321 Might Look Like This

Reports suggest that the Mahindra U321 will be offered with both petrol and diesel engine options. The petrol variants might use a new 1.5L unit developed by M&M and SsangYong. The diesel models, on the other hand, are likely to come with a new 1.6L turbocharged mFalcon motor making 125bhp against 305Nm of torque. There might be two transmissions on offer – a 6-speed manual (standard) and a 6-speed automatic torque converter (optional).
