Mahindra TUV300 Facelift With Fresh Looks Coming Next Year

The 2019 Mahindra TUV300 facelift will receive fresh design and a BS6 compliant diesel engine

Mahindra & Mahindra, the homegrown automaker is gearing up for the launch of new 7-seater SUV based on SsangYong Rexton in October. Besides, the company will introduce a new 5-seater SUV – codenamed S201 in India in the first quarter of 2019. Mahindra is also planning to give a mid-life facelifts to its popular small SUVs – TUV300 and KUV100. According to latest reports, the company has already started working on a mid-life facelift of its popular TUV300 compact SUV.

The facelifted model will receive cosmetic changes to exterior and more features inside the cabin; however, majority of the changes will be made under the hood. The company will make changes to the body structure of the SUV to meet the upcoming new crash test norms that become applicable to all cars on sale in October 2019. Additionally, Mahindra has also started working on a BS-VI-compliant engine for the SUV to meet the new emission norms, which will be applied on April 1, 2020. The Mahindra TUV300 is powered by a 1.5-litre 3-cylinder diesel engine that produces 100bhp of power. Transmission options include a 5-speed manual and an AMT unit. With fresh design and cleaner engine, Mahindra aims to boost sales of this rugged SUV. The TUV300 Plus will also receive similar changes and BS-VI compliant engine.

Talking about immediate plans of Mahindra, the homegrown automaker will introduce all-new 7-seater SUV – codenamed Y400. This SUV will take on the likes of Toyota Fortuner & Ford Endeavour. The company will also launch a sub-4 meter SUV based on the global Tivoli’s platform. This model will rival the Maruti Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and Tata Nexon.
