We informed you earlier that Mahindra will introduce a wide range of new products in the next few years. The company will discontinue low selling products, and will focus on lucrative segments that’s SUV segment. According to the AutoCarIndia, Mahindra will introduce as many as 12 new products over the next five years.
The company will have greater focus on high-performing core segments. This time around, Mahindra is confident of finding success in these segments. Most of these SUVs will fall in the Rs 10-20 lakh price range. The first product under the new segment will be the new Mahindra XUV700, which is scheduled to be launched in the second half of 2021.
The company will enter into new segments where Mahindra is currently absent. Adding to it, the homegrown UV maker will introduce some dedicated electric vehicles. It is reported that celebrated car designer Pratap Bose, will head Mahindra Automotive Design Europe (M.A.D.E). He will play an important role in developing new products for the Indian market.
It is reported that Mahindra will launch an all-new XUV500 in the country. The new model will be a 5-seater SUV, which will measure around 4.3 meters to 4.4 meters. It will be positioned against the Hyundai Creta and the Kia Seltos. The SUV will be based on the elongated version of the XUV300 platform. It is likely to receive a 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol engine that can produce up to 163bhp of power. The diesel version could get the 1.5L engine that produces 121bhp and 300Nm of torque.
Mahindra is also developing an all-new XUV900 Coupe SUV, which will be based on the new XUV700 platform. Adding to it, the company will launch a 5-door version of the Mahindra Thar SUV in 2022. The homegrown UV maker will introduce the electric version of the XUV300 and the KUV100 in 2022.
