India’s popular off-roader – Mahindra Thar has been used in many Bollywood movies including Chennai Express and Golmaal series. The latest brand to use this capable off-roader is none other than “Thala” – superstar Rajnikanth as his ride in his upcoming movie Kaala. Promotions and posters for the movies are out, featuring Rajnikanth seating on the bonnet of the Thar. Earlier Anand Mahindra, Chairman Mahindra Group had tweeted to acquire the Thar used by Rajnikanth to be displayed at Mahindra’s auto museum. Now, Anand Mahindra tweeted that the Thar is honoured to be the chosen chariot for Rajnikanth in the much-awaited movie – “Kaala”.

The tweets said, “What I saw first thing this morning on the front page of the newspaper… No need for much comment… The Thar is honoured to be chosen chariot…”. The producer of the movie, Dhanush earlier said that the Thar is currently being used for the shoots but he will ensure that the car reaches Mahindra once the shoot is over. Now that the shoot of the movie is already done and ready to hit theatres, it seems that Anand Mahindra could soon acquire the Thar for the museum. The Mahindra Thar is one of the best-selling off-roaders in the country. This rugged off-roader also comes with a range of customisation options. It is priced in the range of Rs 6.27 lakh for the base model and Rs 9 lakh for the top-end model.
