Mahindra Ssangyong Korando SUV India launch this year

Ssangyong Korando SUV- Expected Indian launch, price and features

Mahindra is trying hard to improve sales in the highly competitive Indian auto industry. According to the Financial Express, Mahindra is planning to launch the Ssangyong Korando SUV in the country this year. The SUV has already been spotted several times during its test rounds on Indian roads, but Mahindra officials are yet to confirm the launch of this SUV. The homegrown automaker is currently working on S101 micro SUV and U301 Bolero SUV, which are scheduled to be launched this year.

Mahindra is most likely to locally produce the Korando SUV to price it competitive in the market. The vehicle will directly rival against the likes of Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano and soon-to-be launched Hyundai ix25. In 2013, Mahindra introduced the new Korando facelift. The updated model gets changes to both exteriors and interiors. It is equipped with new headlamps with projectors, new grille, bumper, new alloy wheels, new instrument cluster, etc.

The Korean-spec Korando is powered by a 2.0-litre diesel and petrol engines, which are paired to a six-speed manual and automatic transmission. The oil burner offers two states of tunes- 149PS and 175PS, while the petrol unit is good for 149PS.

It is equipped with several safety features such as six airbags, Anti-Lock Braking System, Electronic Brake-Force Distribution, Tyre Pressure Monitoring System, rear parking sensors, hill start assist, etc.
