Mahindra & Mahindra’s third-generation Scorpio SUV is ready to hit roads on 27th June, 2022. Called the new Mahindra Scorpio-N, the new model will be sold alongside the current-gen model. The new Mahindra Scorpio-N will share its engines, features and components with the Mahindra XUV700. The SUV will come with the 2.0L turbo petrol and 2.2L turbo diesel engines delivering 170PS and 130PS (in the lower variants)/160PS (in the higher variants) respectively. One must note that the power figure of the Scorpio N petrol is slightly lower than the XUV7. Interestingly, the carmaker will offer the optional AWD (all-wheel drive) system with both petrol and diesel motors. There will be two gearboxes on offer – a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.

Feature-wise, the new Mahindra Scorpio-N will be more loaded than the current generation. It will have an analogue instrument cluster, an 8-speaker 3D Sony audio system, a 360 degree camera, electrically adjustable front seats, push button start/stop, a sunroof and more. The new Mahindra Scorpio N will borrow its touchscreen infotainment system from the XUV700. The unit will support Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Speculations are on rife that the SUV’s new model could be equipped with ADAS (advanced driver assistance system). There will be a flat bottom steering wheel and dual tone interior theme. The safety kit will also be much packed than before. The new Scorpio N is likely to come with 6/8 airbags, tyre pressure monitoring system, rear disc brakes and electronic stability control. The SUV will come with the front facing third row seats replacing the existing side facing units.
