Mahindra Scorpio Classic Coming On 12th Aug – 7/9-Seater SUV

Mahindra & Mahindra has confirmed that it will unveil the new Scorpio Classic on August 12, 2022. It’s essentially the SUV’s previous generation model with noticeable cosmetic and feature upgrades. The Mahindra Scorpio Classic will be made available in two variants, namely, S3+ and S11. Buyers will have two seating configuration options – 7 and 9-seats.

Under the hood, the SUV will continue to feature the same 2.2L, 4-cylinder turbo diesel motor that’s good enough for 132bhp and 300Nm. It will come with the RWD (rear-wheel drive) system. There will be no automatic transmission and 4WD (all-wheel drive) system. In order to improve its driving experience, the automaker is reported to update its suspension setup. It’s likely to have lesser body roll and better top-heavy handling.

New Mahindra Scorpio Classic Infotainment

Interior will receive a few significant changes including the dashboard with piano-black finish inserts and dark finish wooden inserts in centra console. The SUV will get a larger touchscreen infotainment system with the Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity. Though, it could be reserved for the higher trims. The conventional physical buttons will be replaced with the touch sensitive controls placed on the left side of display. The manual gear lever knob will be sourced from the XUV700.

Minor changes will also be made to its exterior. The new Mahindra Scorpio Classic will feature a newly-designed front grille in black and chrome finish, Mahindra’s twin peak logo, a new set of dual-tone 17-inch alloy wheels and a faux skid plate. The lower variants will come with the steel wheels.

After unveiling the new Mahindra Scorpio Classic, the home-grown automaker will showcase its 5 electric SUVs on 15th August, 2022. The unveiling event is scheduled to happen in the U.K. All upcoming models will make world debut in their concept avatars. The lineup is likely to include a Coupe SUV, e-XUV700 and three more models. Official details will be revealed in coming days. Stay tuned to IndiaCarNews.
