Mahindra & Mahindra has rolled out the Scorpio AT, only on the top-end variant, in 2WD and 4WD options – S10 2WD and S10 4WD. The former is available at Rs. 13.13 lakh, while the latter one is priced at Rs. 14.33 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). The new Mahindra Scorpio Automatic will compete against the newly launch Hyundai Creta that will be the second only diesel automatic car in the segment.

Power for the new Mahindra Scorpio Automatic comes from a 2.2-litre, 4-cylinder mHawk diesel engine that puts out a maximum power of 120bhp at 4,000rpm and 280Nm of torque at 1,800rpm – 2,800rpm. It’s the same engine that does duty to the regular manual version of the SUV. This powertrain is mated with a 6-speed self-shifting hydraulic transmission that helps the car to returns a fuel economy of 15.4kmpl.
Except an “Automatic’ badge on the sides and tail gate, the entire design and dimension of the Scorpio AT remain unchanged. Similar to the manual variants, the new automatic version is available with 7 and 8-seats configuration options. As far as features are concerned, the SUV comes equipped with a 6-inch touchscreen infotainment system with CD, DVD, USB, Aux-in and Bluetooth connectivity, GPS navigation, driver information via infotainment system, voice assist system, rain & light sensors, Intellipark, anti-lock braking system (ABS), electronic brake-force distribution (EBD), dual front airbags, engine immobilizer, anti-theft alarm, etc.
