Mahindra S201 Clear Spy Images Reveal Interior & Exterior

Mahindra S201 compact SUV will officially go on sale in India in the first quarter of 2019. Ahead of the launch, new spy images reveal the interior and styling bits of the SUV. Based on the SsangYong Tivoli’s X100 platform, the S201 will be a sub-4 meter SUV to challenge the likes of Tata Nexon, Maruti Vitara Brezza, Ford EcoSport and the upcoming Hyundai Leonis.
The spotted model wears a thin white cover, which reveals most of the design highlights. The SUV looks similar to the global Tivoli, though it comes with Mahindra’s familiar front and new rear profile. It comes with a squarish front face, featuring wider grille with vertical slats, headlamps with DRLs and massive bumper with wider air-dams and fog lamp housing.

The side profile looks relatively similar to the Tivoli, featuring more boxy profile and a straighter roof. Black treatment can be seen on the window lines, doors and wheel arches. The wheel arches are fitted to stylishly design diamond-cut alloy wheels, which seems 17-inch in size. Not just exterior, the latest spy images completely reveal the cabin design and features on offer. The Mahindra S201 SUV comes with dual-tone black and beige interior scheme. The dashboard looks relatively simple yet functional, featuring a centrally mounted 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system with chrome surround. The touchscreen is the same 7-inch unit offered in the Marazzo MPV, which means it is compatible with Android Auto and Apple CarPlay. Driver armrest and multi-functional steering wheel is also available. The 3-spoke steering wheel also gets silver treatment. Rear seats are wide enough to accommodate 3 adults.
Mahindra S201 compact SUV will be available in petrol and diesel guise. The diesel version will be powered by a 1.5-litre unit that produces 121bhp and 300Nm of torque. On the other side, the gasoline version will debut the brand’s all-new 1.2-litre turbocharged petrol engine that is rumoured to produce up to 135PS of power.
