Homegrown UV maker, Mahindra is all set to launch its all-new premium MPV – called Mahindra Marazzo in September 2018. The company plans 3 new launches this year and Marazzo will be the first to go on sale. The other two models to go on sale include a sub-4 meter SUV codenamed S201 and a 7-seater premium SUV – codenamed Y400. Mahindra has already started dispatching the MPV to dealerships for customer previews. In fact, the Marazzo has been spotted at one of the Mahindra’s dealerships yard, indicating towards an imminent launch. However, the model was covered in white cloth to hide design details.
The new spy images reveal the first details of the production-spec Marazzo’s interior. It comes with a dual-tone dashboard, which is preferred by most Indian buyers. While the bottom half of the dash is finished in beige, the upper half gets darker shade – probably black or dark brown. The steering wheels come devoid of buttons for infotainment system, which suggests that this could be an entry-level model.

The centre console comes integrated with a touchscreen entertainment system along with chrome detailings for the buttons. Chrome highlights also offered on the air-conditioning unit. It also gets a new 6-speed manual gearbox. Media reports claim that the Marazzo will initially come in manual version only.
The Mahindra Marazzo’s second row gets captain seats; however, buyers will have an option to opt for a three-seater bench as well. Similar sitting arrangements are offered in the Toyota Innova Crysta, which is currently leading the MPV market. The new model is built on Mahindra’s all-new platform, which will also underpin the company’s future models. Though Mahindra is yet to reveal more details of this platform, it is expected to be a monocoque chassis. We believe that the next-gen XUV500 could use this platform. The Marazzo MPV will also mark the debut of Mahindra’s new 1.5-litre diesel engine, which is expected to produce over 120bhp of power. This engine is claimed to be lighter and more fuel efficient. It is also expected to power the upcoming Mahindra S201 compact SUV.
