Mahindra has gifted the all-new Mahindra Marazzo to a Kerala-based fisherman Jaisal
Anand Mahindra is known for rewarding Indian citizens for their acts of valour and the latest example comes from Kerala. Few days back, He gifted the Mahindra Supro Mini Truck to a auto rickshaw rider and a TUV300 to World Weightlifting Champion Mirabai Chanu. Now, Mahindra has gifted the all-new Mahindra Marazzo to a Kerala-based fisherman Jaisal who offered his back to people affected in the flood as a means to get into the rescue boat.
Sundar Ramachandran has thanked Anand Mahindra via a tweet for the kind gesture. Kerala Minister for labour T P Ramakrishnan has handed over the Marazzo to Jaisal at the Eram Motors dealership in Calicut. The Marazzo was recently launched in India at a starting price of Rs 9.99 lakh, which goes up to Rs 13.95 lakh (ex-showroom, Pan India). The new Mahindra Marazzo is powered by a newly-developed 1.5-litre, 4-cylinder turbocharged diesel engine paired to a 6-speed manual gearbox. This engine is capable of producing 121bhp of power and 300Nm of torque. It is claimed to deliver an ARAI certified fuel economy of 17.6kmpl. The petrol version will come at a later stage.
The new model is off to a good start, as the company retailed a total of 1,762 units of the all-new Marazzo to its dealers in August, 2018. The 7-seater MPV went on sale on 3rd September, while dispatch to dealers was started in the first week of August.
