Mahidnra & Mahindra has introduced a new variant of the KUV100 hatchback in India. Called the Mahindra KUV100 Trip, this new model is aimed at the fleet and taxi segment. The vehicle is available in a single variant priced at Rs 5.16 lakh, and it goes up to Rs 5.42 lakh (all, ex-showroom Delhi). In this price range, the new KUV100 Trip will take head-to-head against the Maruti Dzire Tour and the Hyundai Xcent Prime.
The KUV100 Trip is based on the pre-facelift K2 trim of the hatchback carline. Available with 5-seats and 6-seats (diesel only) layout, this new model also marks the debut fo the petrol-CNG engine. In order to allure fleet buyers, the home-grown carmaker is also offering an affordable annual maintenance contracts (Rs 0.35 – 0.40/km) on the hatchback. The pre-facelift version of the mini hatchback was introduced in 2016 at a starting price of Rs 4.42 lakh (ex-showroom, Pune). The new fleet-oriented version of the vehicle misses out on some features, thus making it more affordable than its arch rivals – Maruti Suzuki Dzire Tour and Hyundai Xcent Prime. While the former costs Rs 5.24 lakh (for petrol model) – Rs 5.99 lakh (for diesel model), the latter one is available at Rs 5.93 lakh (CNG T) and Rs 6.12 lakh (CNG T+) (all, ex-showroom, Delhi). Comprehensive changes have been made under the skin. For the first time, Mahindra offers the petrol-CNG powertrain along with the diesel engine option. The petrol-CNG variant comes fitted with a 1.2-litre mFalcon motor with CNG kit that produces a maximum power of 70bhp and 82bhp while running on petrol motor and CNG respectively. On the other hand, the diesel version sources its power from the 1.2-litre, mFalcon D75 turbocharged common-rail unit pushing out a peak power of 78bhp and 190Nm of torque. Mahindra KUV100 Trip Exterior & Interior
As mentioned above, the KUV100 Trip is based on the pre-facelift K2 trim of the hatchback. Design and styling of the car is exactly similar to the pre-facelift version. It features sporty grille with tooth-like chrome insets, headlamps with follow-me units, twin air-dam units, black under-body cladding, large silver skid plate, roof rails, dual rear fog lamps and 14-inch multi-spoke wheels with tubeless radial tyres. While the petrol-CNG variant is available with 5 and 6-seats configurations, the diesel version comes with 6-seats layout. Feature-wise, the KUV100 Trip misses out on some features including power windows. The list of features is carried over from the pre-facelift K2 trim. Safety features such as ABS with EBD and an engine immobilizer are standard on the vehicle.
