Mahindra Funster EV Concept To Unveil At Auto Expo 2020
Mahindra & Mahindra recently confirmed its EV product lineup for the Auto Expo 2020. The teaser image shows front of the four electric vehicles including the new-generation XUV500 EV, XUV300 EV, eKUV100 and Atom quadricycle. According to a latest report, the carmaker will also unveil the all-new Mahindra Funster EV concept at the biennial event.
The Mahindra Funster will preview the new design language of the brand’s futuristic, high-performance electric vehicle. The concept will feature a 60kWh battery pack paired to four electric motors powering each wheel.
The all-new Mahindra Funster EV will deliver a maximum power of around 313bhp (230kW) and accelerate from 0 to 100kmph in less than 5 seconds. Talking about the Mahindra XUV300 EV, the electric SUV will be offered in two variants – Standard and Long-range version – delivering a range of up to 200km and 300km respectively. The latter one will be powered by a 40kWh battery pack and a 130bhp,electric motor. Mahindra will co-develop the lithium-ion batteries with the Korean battery marker – LG Chem.
Visually, the Mahindra XUV300 will look exactly similar to the standard model. Based on the fully-loaded W trim, the electric SUV might see subtle cosmetic changes along with a pack of new comfort goodies and connectivity features. The XUV300 electric will take on the newly-launched Tata Nexon EV.
The Mahindra XUV500 EV will be based on the SUV’s new-generation model that’s likely to debut at the Auto Expo 2020. The 2020 Mahindra XUV500 will be built on the new monocoque FWS (front-wheel-drive) platform that will be co-developed by Mahindra and Ford. The same architecture will also be used in the Ford’s new C-SUV.
