The Mahindra Bolero SUV crossed the 10 lakh sales mark since its launch in 2001.
Mahindra Bolero, the company’s top-selling car, has achieved a new sales milestone in the country. The SUV crossed the 10 lakh sales mark since its launch in 2001. After a long dominance in the utility vehicle segment, the Bolero failed to make it to the top ten best-selling passenger vehicles list from the past two years. However, the SUV regained its position in March, 2018. The SUV clocked a total sales of 9,104 units accounting year-on-year growth of 23 per cent.
Commenting on the sales milestone, Veejay Ram Nakra, Chief of Sales & Marketing, Automotive Division, Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. said, “This is a proud moment for us, as our iconic brand, Bolero crossed the 10 lakh units milestone, since launch. In fact, the Bolero has regained its position in the top 10 passenger vehicles in India, which is a validation of the confidence consumers, in semi urban and rural India, have reposed on the brand. Further the successful launch of the Bolero Power+ has helped the brand to grow steadily, inspite of several new launches in the UV space. Currently, the SUV is available in a total of 10 variants priced between Rs 7.75 lakh – Rs 8.98 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi). Aiming to boost its sales, the carmaker introduced the Bolero Power+ with a more powerful and fuel efficient powertrain in 2016. Priced between Rs 6.85 lakh – Rs 8.18 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi), the new version of the SUV comes with a 1.5-litre, 3-cylinder diesel engine that’s good for 70bhp and 195Nm of torque.
