Mahindra Alturas G4 Set To Launch On November 24 – Confirmed

Mahindra & Mahindra has official confirmed that its upcoming Y400 (codename) premium 7-seater SUV will be named ‘Mahindra Alturas G4’. Official bookings for the vehicle have been commenced across the nation. The carmaker has also revealed the launch of the SUV will take place on 24th November, 2018. The Alturas G4 will be Mahindra’s new flagship SUV that will put up against the Toyota Fortuner and Ford Endeavour.

First previewed at the 2018 Auto Expo, the Mahindra Alturas G4 is claimed to offer “luxury and exclusivity in its bold & imposing design & luxurious interiors. The carmaker also say that the “thrilling performance & off-road capability, unmatched safety and best-in-class features further enhance the Alturas G4 proposition”. Speaking about the Mahindra Alturas G4, Veejay Nakra, Chief of Sales & Marketing, M&M Ltd. said, “The word Alturas means ‘height’ or ‘pinnacle’. The Alturas G4 represents a gateway into luxury for those who have reached the pinnacle of success in their lives. Mahindra Alturas G4 is essentially the re-badged second-generation Ssangyong Rexton G4. The company’s Chakan-based facility in Maharashtra will serve as production hub for the SUV. While the official prices will be revealed during its launch on 24th November, it is estimated to be priced above Rs 30 lakh (ex-showroom). Power for the Mahindra Alturas G4 will come from a 2.2-litre, four-cylinder diesel engine that’s good for 185bhp and 420Nm of torque. This turbocharged oil burner will be available with a 6-speed automatic gearbox, supported by 2WD and 4WD drivetrain system. The top-spec variant of the SUV is likely to be loaded with a touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, 9 airbags, hill decent control, ESP and hill start assist.
