Mahindra Alturas G4, the flagship SUV of the home-grown automaker, gets a new 2WD High variant at Rs 30.68 lakh (ex-showroom). Besides this, the company discontinued its entry-level 2WD and 4X4 variants of the SUV. Interestingly, the new Alturas 2WD High variant comes with the same set of features, which were available on the 4WD model.
The list includes an 8.0-inch touchscreen infotainment system Android Auto and Apple CarPlay connectivity, ambient lighting, a sunroof, a 360 degree camera, ventilated seats, electrically adjustable driver seat with memory function, cruise control, tyre pressure monitoring system, 9 airbags, tinted glass, 18-inch diamond cut alloy wheels, HID headlamps with LED DRLs, LED fog lamps with cornering function and LED taillamps.
The new Mahindra Alturas 2WD High variant uses the same 2.2L diesel engine paired to a 7-speed automatic gearbox sourced from Mercedes. The motor delivers a claimed power of 178bhp and 420Nm of torque.
In fresh updates, the Pune-based automaker will soon launch the Mahindra XUV300 and Bolero SUVs with the new Twin Peaks logo. The updated models of both SUVs have already reached at dealerships. The company has also announced that it will introduce its first pure electric SUV in January 2023. Called the Mahindra XUV400, the model features a 39.5kWh battery pack delivering power worth 148bhp and 310Nm of torque.
Mahindra claims that the upcoming XUV400 can do 0 to 100kmph in 8.6 seconds. It has an electronic speed limit of 150kmph. It has a battery pack that can be charged from 0 to 80 percent in 50 minutes by using 50kW DC fast charger. With the standard 3.3kW/16A power socket and a 7.2kW/32A outlet, it can be juiced up 100 percent in 13 hours and 6 hours 30 minutes respectively. It comes with three driving modes – Fun, Fast and Fearless. The upcoming Mahindra electric SUV is the first vehicle in its segment to come with single pedal drive mode – Lively mode.
