Mahindra 1st Scorpio-N Rolls Off Production Line; Deliveries In Sept

Mahindra had launched the new Scorpio-N SUV on June 27, 2022. Deliveries for the new SUV will commence from September 2022. The SUV has received an unprecedented response from car buyers, as it recorded 1 lakh bookings in just 30 minutes. Mahindra has shared a video of the new Mahindra Scorpio-N SUV’s making and first few units rolling off the production line at its Chakan Plant.

The new video reveals the production process of the new Mahindra Scorpio-N. The company is aiming to deliver 20,000 units of the new Scorpio-N by December 2022. Deliveries for the top-spec Z8L variant will be on priority. The introductory prices of the new SUV variants are applicable for the first 25,000 bookings. It is available at an introductory price of Rs 11.99 lakh for base variant and Rs 23.9 lakh for the top-spec model.

The new Mahindra Scorpio-N is offered with two engine options – a 2.0-litre mStallion turbo petrol and a 2.2-litre mHawk diesel. While the petrol engine pushes out 200bhp and 370Nm (MT)/380Nm (AT) of torque, the diesel engine offers 130bhp with 300Nm on lower variants and 175bhp with 370Nm (MT)/400Nm (AT) on higher variants. Transmission choices include a 6-speed manual and a 6-speed torque convertor automatic.

The diesel model can be had with either RWD or AWD (all-wheel-drive) system. It offers 3 ride modes – Zip, Zap and Zoom. The 4×4 variant, called the 4Xplorer offers 4 off-road modes – Sand, Mud, Grass and Snow.

In terms of features, the SUV gets an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a 7-inch digital driver display, built-in Alexa, connected car tech, 3D Sony sound system, electric sunroof, dual-zone climate control, air purifier and others. For safety and security, the SUV gets 6 airbags, ESP, TPMS, hill hold & descent assist, traction control, ABS with EBD, a driver drowsiness detection system & rear parking camera.
