Made-in-India Kia Carnival Price To Be Aggressive
The Kia Carnival luxury MPV is all set to make its debut at the 2020 Auto Expo that will begin in the first week of next month. Speaking to a media publication, Manohar Bhat, VP and head of sales, marketing at Kia India, confirmed that the Kia Carnival will be manufactured in India at the company’s Anantapur facility.
The carmaker will import a few components for the vehicle. With the high level localization, the Kia Carnival is likely to be priced quite competitively. Similar to the Kia Seltos, the luxury MPV will be a global product, but work as a part of a brand building exercise for the company in the country.
Unlike the global model, the India-spec Kia Carnival will come with two seating configurations – 6-seats and 7-seats. For power, the luxury MPV will use a BS6-compliant 2.2L diesel engine pushing out 202bhp and 440Nm of torque. Claimed to be “sheer extravagance”, the Kia Carnival will be packed with lots of advanced comfort goodies such as VIP seats with rear seat entertainment, one touch power sliding door, smart power tailgate, electrical adjustable front seats, leather interiors, a touchscreen infotainment system with the latest smartphone connectivity and many more.
