Prices of the updated electric SUV are slated to be announced on May 11, 2022. The new model, which was caught testing multiple times, will receive significant powertrain upgrades. Minimal changes are expected to be made to its exterior and interior. While the current model comes within the price range of Rs 14.54 lakh – Rs 17.15 lakh, the new 2022 Tata Nexon EV will surely cost a little more. As the name suggests ‘Long-Range’, the updated Nexon EV will be capable to deliver longer electric range than the current version. The latter comes with a 30.2kWh lithium-ion battery pack delivering power to an electric motor mounted on the front axle. It pushes out a peak power of 129bhp and 245Nm of torque and accelerates 0 to 100kmph in 9.9 seconds. The existing model promises a range of 312km on a single charge.
Talking about the long-range Tata Nexon EV, the electric SUV will feature a 40kWh battery pack with a more powerful 6.6kW AC charger. It will offer an ARAI-certified range of over 400km that will stand around 300-320km in rear world conditions.
If reports are to be believed, the 2022 Tata Nexon EV could receive the selectable regeneration modes enabling adjust the intensity of regenerative braking. On the exterior, it might get newly-designed alloy wheels painted in dual shades. The new model is likely to come with the rear disc brakes. In order to make it a more valuable deal, the carmaker might add some new goodies such as electronic stability program, cruise control, ventilated seats, a park mode and an air purifier.
