Jaguar Land Rover, fully owned subsidiary of Tata Motors, has introduced the locally assembled Range Rover Evoque in the Indian car market. The made-in India Evoque is prices start at Rs. 48.73 lakh (ex-showroom Mumbai, Pre-Octroi). Deliveries for the car will start from early April 2015.
The Range Rover Evoque is the fourth vehicle to be assembled at the Jaguar Land Rover’s Pune facility. Other three models locally assembled at this facility are Freelander 2, Jaguar XF and XJ. The company has tripled the production capacity at the Pune plant since its introduction in 2011.
The locally assembled Range Rover Evoque is powered by the same 2.2-litre SD4 diesel engine that churns out 188bhp of power and 420Nm of top torque. The engine is coupled to a six-speed automatic gearbox. The car is offered in three trim levels- Pure, Dynamic and Prestige.
