Limited Batch of Mahindra XUV300 Recalled Over Faulty Suspension Part

Mahindra & Mahindra has issued a voluntary recall for a “limited batch” of the Mahindra XUV300 subcompact SUV in the country. The recall has been prompted to inspect and replace suspension component of the models manufactured till May, 2019. The carmaker, however, hasn’t yet mentioned which components will be replaced under the recall exercise.

The company has specified that the inspection and replacement (if required) will be done free of cost. Individual customers will be informed their cars will be inspected and the parts will be replaced at the Mahindra dealership.

The subcompact SUV comes with a MacPherson Strut with Anti-roll BarRear and a Twist Beam suspension with coil spring at the front and rear axles respectively. The Mahindra XUV300 comes with two powertrain options – a 1.2L petrol and a 1.5L diesel. The gasoline unit makes a top power of 110bhp against 200Nm of peak torque and the oil burner delivers 115bhp and a class-leading torque of 300Nm. As of now, the subcompact SUV is available with a 6-speed gearbox only.

Prices of the Mahindra XUV300 petrol model start from Rs 8.10 lakh and go up to Rs 11.64 lakh. The diesel variants are available in the price range of Rs 8.69 lakh – Rs 12.69 lakh. All prices are ex-showroom, Delhi.
