Toyota is planning to introduce the Lexus luxury car brand in the Indian car market. If media reports are to be believed, the Lexus LX570 arrives in India for testing purpose. In recent past, the luxury cars have seen a positive growth in Indian car market and this segment has been dominated by three Germans. The testing of Lexus LX570 hinted at a closer launch. It seems like Toyota is getting serious in bringing the Lexus brand to India.
The Lexus LX570 might come for R&D purpose, but it is clear that Toyota is sure on launching Lexus to the country. Toyota has been witnessing a slowdown in sales over the past months, and the growing demand for luxury cars could help the Japanese brand to regain its lost market share.
The Lexus LX570 is based on the Toyota Land Cruiser. Under the bonnet is the 5.7-litre naturally aspirated V8 petrol engine that churns out a maximum power output of 383bhp and peak torque of 546Nm. It does 0-100kmph in mere 7.5 seconds. This engine is coupled to a six-speed automatic transmission gearbox which sends the power to all four wheels of the SUV.
