LEAKED: Hyundai Creta’s brochure reveals all details

The Hyundai Creta’s brochure has been leaked ahead of its launch on July 21, 2015. The brochure reveals the engine specs, variant-wise features and other details of the vehicle.

The engine options to be on offer are – 1.4-litre CRDi diesel, 1.6-litre CRDi diesel and 1.6-litre Dual VTVT petrol. All powertrains will be mated to a 6-speed manual transmission, while an optional automatic gearbox will be available only on the top-end SX diesel variant. The petrol engine is good for 124.2bhp and 151Nm, while the 1.4-litre and 1.6-litre diesel engines produce a maximum power of 89bhp with 219Nm and 131bhp (best-in-class) with 265Nm respectively. It will get front wheel drive system as a standard feature.

The Hyundai Creta will be available in six trims – Base, S, S+, SX, SX+ and SX (O) – and seven color options – Star Dust, Pearl Beige, Polar White, Red Passion, Mystic Blue and Sleek Silver. Based on the new i20 hatchback, the compact SUV measures 4, 270mm in length, 1, 780mm in width and1, 630mm in height, and has a wheelbase of 2,590mm. Other details like ground clearance, turning radius and boot space are still under the wrap. The variant-wise feature list is same as the previously leaked information.

According to reports, Hyundai India has begun dispatch process for the Creta to its dealerships across the country. The production of the compact SUV will take place at Hyundai’s Chennai plant with high-degree of localization. Since the Creta will be pitted against the Renault Duster, Nissan Terrano and Maruti Suzuki’s upcoming S-Cross, we expect it to be priced between Rs. 8 lakh – Rs. 12lakh (ex-showroom).
