German luxury carmaker BMW has launched the M6 Gran Coupe in the Indian car market. It has been priced at Rs. 1.75 crore (ex-showroom, New Delhi) . It is basically the sporty version of the regular 6 Series model launched last year, but it get the brands performance M division touches which adds to its sporty character.
The front fascia of the M6 Gran Coupe gets the familiar BMW kidney grille complemented by the swept back headlights, power hood and its sporty bumper gets the mesh air intake. Its flared wheel arches have been fitted to 20-inch alloy wheels. The contrasting roof flows into the C-pillar, offering a low and sloping rear roofline. The rear end of the M6 Gran Coupe sports Quad exhausts, sporty bumper and wrap around tail lamps.
Inside the cabin, the M6 Gran Coupe has all the features that are accessible in the standard model. Additionally, the vehicle gets Alcantara upholstery, leather seats and a newly formulated three-spoke steering wheel. Moreover, it sports BMW’s i-drive and seat memory function. On safety front, the M6 Gran Coupe is equipped with eight airbags, ABS with EBD and brake assist, traction control, ESP and others.
Under the hood, the BMW M6 Gran Coupe gets the 4.4-litre twin-power turbocharged V8 engine that churns out a maximum power output of 560bhp and 677Nm of torque. This engine is coupled to a seven-speed dual clutch gearbox which sends the power to the rear wheels of the car. It accelerates to 100kmph from rest in just 4.1 seconds and catches an electronically limited top speed of 248kmph.
