BMW M2 Competition uses a 410bhp, 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine.

BMW India has rolled its most affordable M model – M2 Competition – at Rs 79.90 lakh (ex-showroom). This makes it around Rs 6 lakh less expensive than the Porsche 718 Cayman that costs Rs 85.95 lakh (ex-showroom). Official bookings for the BMW M2 Competition were begun in October, 2018. At the heart of the BMW M2 Competition is a 3.0-litre six-cylinder turbo-petrol engine generating power worth 410bhp and 550Nm of torque. It can accelerate 0-100kmph in just 4.2 seconds and delivers a top speed of 250kmph. Transmitting power to the rear wheels is a 7-speed dual-clutch automatic gearbox with paddle shifters. It vehicle offers three driving modes – Comfort, Sport and Sport+.

The BMW M2 Competition is based on the 2-Series Coupe, though it looks sportier and performs way better than the latter. Some of its design highlights include kidney grille with gloss black finish, muscular side creases, flared wheel arches, a rear spoiler and quad exhaust tips. Feature-wise, the BMW M2 Competition comes loaded with a range of comfort and entertainment goodies including a new instrument cluster with M-style instruments, a seven-speaker system with a 6.5-inch colour screen with Bluetooth and USB connectivity, an 8.8-inch colour screen infotainment screen with Apple CarPlay and a 12-speaker sound system by Harman Kardon M leather-wrapped steering wheel wrapped in leather, optional M Sport seats with M2 badges and M seatbelts, front and rear parking sensors and a reverse camera.
